COLD IS GOLD × FILMSTRO
OPERATIONAL BRIEF · JULY 2026

A predictable flow
of new Enterprise music clients.

This document lays out an operational plan to grow Filmstro’s Enterprise licensing and bespoke-music business across video-producing teams in the US, UK and the wider English-speaking market through cold email outreach — reading time ~ 6 minutes.

Read first

What you are about to read is a first take, drafted ahead of our conversation to give you a concrete preview of how we work.

The prospects, signals and projections presented here are working hypotheses — we will refine them together during the engagement.

The aim of this document is to let you picture concretely what a campaign could produce.

01 / YOUR BUSINESS

We understand your DNA.

Filmstro is the maker of the world’s first custom royalty-free music app for video. Founded in 2016 by Seb Jaeger (the idea began in 2014, the product was built through 2015) and operating across the UK and Germany, Filmstro lets creators shape a track in real time with three sliders — Momentum, Depth and Power — so the music bends to the edit rather than the other way round. Over half a million filmmakers have scored their stories with it since launch. The positioning is deliberate and current: real music, composed by real composers and controlled by the user, not the endless prompting of fully AI-generated audio. Teams at NASA, MIT, Yale, UCL, UC Berkeley and Industrial Light & Magic have all licensed Filmstro.

What sets you apart

Filmstro is not a static library you dig through. The music itself is adjustable: creators draw emotion in real time, keyframe Momentum, Depth and Power frame-accurately to the cut, control individual stems, and generate any length with Smart Length. The Adobe Premiere Pro extension brings all of it inside the editor, so the score adapts to the timeline without leaving the NLE. And because every track is composed by real composers and licence-clean, it clears where fully AI-generated audio raises questions — on YouTube, in broadcast, and in front of a client’s legal team.

What we will push on your behalf

Filmstro Enterprise and the bespoke custom-music service, sold at team and organisation level rather than one seat at a time. The core promise is simple: anyone can compose now — no staff composer, no waiting on deliverables, no back-and-forth on tweaks. The commercial sweet spot is the small-to-medium team (say eight content people) that has outgrown per-track stock but cannot justify bespoke on every project: Filmstro sits exactly in that gap — cinema-grade music they shape themselves, cleared everywhere, for the cost of a multi-seat subscription. Bespoke scoring is the natural upsell when a project needs something the catalogue does not have yet, and the Premiere Pro extension is the wedge that lets an editor adapt the score inside the timeline.

02 / YOUR MARKET

A market identified and qualified.

We start from the market Filmstro actually plays in: the video-creator universe, which indexes to users of professional editing software. Adobe Premiere Pro alone counts more than 20 million creators worldwide (around 30 million as of 2024), and Filmstro now plugs directly into that software so music can be adapted inside Premiere. That is the ceiling. Because cold email is B2B by law, we size the campaign not on individuals but on the organisations that produce video at volume across the high-income English-speaking markets — the US (Filmstro’s largest market), the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand: production and post houses, agencies, brands with in-house studios, enterprises with content teams, and universities with media programmes. Screened to organisations with a findable business contact, that working universe is around 150,000.

How we build this database

We cross-reference creative and production directories, Companies House and equivalent registries, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, showreel and portfolio platforms (Vimeo, YouTube, Behance), trade press (Ad Age, Adweek, Variety, Deadline, Campaign, Shots, Little Black Book, Prolific North, Televisual) and event and awards lists to identify the people who commission or cut video and match your criteria. Every contact is then verified and enriched by AI: role check, business email validation, and a last-12-month news and output scrape per organisation. Impossible to do by hand across a six-figure universe — this is what makes qualification possible at scale.

Why 50% are contactable

Founders, creative directors and heads of content are not always listed publicly with a direct business email. This 50% ratio is deliberately conservative — this segment typically yields 40% to 60% verified emails through Sales Navigator, Apollo, Hunter and our enrichment stack — so the projections stay realistic rather than optimistic.

This is the reachable, defensible slice of a far larger market: Seb’s own framing puts the ceiling at 20 million-plus Premiere Pro creators worldwide. For a first campaign we go deliberately wide across the English-speaking markets and let the replies show where demand concentrates, then focus the next wave. Two deliberate choices: individual creators are out of scope (cold email is B2B by law, and their ACV is low), so we target teams and organisations; and education is run as a separate message — a university media department responds to “keep your students on modern workflows”, not to “stop wrestling with music”. The number to remember: a single Enterprise, education or bespoke rollout can be worth many self-serve seats, so the closings count is not the only signal that matters.
03 / PROSPECT SAMPLE

10 organisations identified by our AI.

Before launching at full scale, we always start with a sample of 10 real prospects, picked across the English-speaking markets and the target mix (production and post houses, in-house brand and corporate studios, enterprises with content teams, and universities) to show the approach works for each. For each one we identify a named decision-maker, surface a recent verifiable signal, and explain why the prospect fits Filmstro’s Enterprise and bespoke-music offer. The same method will then be applied to your full database of ~75,000 contactable prospects.

For each prospect, our AI identifies a concrete signal: a recent production, a campaign launch, a new studio, a senior hire, a published statement. That signal justifies why to reach out now and provides the foundation for personalising the email.

This sample is US-led and spans the English-speaking markets: production and post studios (Lemonlight, Stept Studios, Portal A), in-house media studios (Front Office Sports, Morning Brew, Wrexham AFC), content agencies in Canada and Australia (Takt/Studios, Vidico) and two US film schools for the education segment (Chapman, Boston University) — a preview of what your full database will look like. You will have the opportunity to validate it and steer us before the campaign goes live.

01

Lemonlight

Hope Horner · Co-Founder & CEO
Los Angeles branded-video-at-scale company: 25,000+ videos in ~11 years for Amazon, Google, Tesla and Airbnb.
SIGNAL DETECTED

1 October 2025: Lemonlight launched a Generative AI Commercials service for enterprise brands, days before an AdRoll partnership and a 2025 Inc. 5000 listing.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

The single best volume fit in this sample: a shop producing thousands of brand and social videos a year hits per-track clearance friction on every cutdown. Enterprise licensing at a predictable per-seat cost beats licensing track by track.

02

Stept Studios

Nick Martini · Founder & Director
Los Angeles branded-entertainment and commercial studio for Nike, Levi’s, Audi, Adidas and New Balance.
SIGNAL DETECTED

2025: named creative agency of record for Angel Margarita, the RTD cocktail brand co-founded by Hailee Steinfeld, and released a Marvel Thunderbolts spot in May.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

An agency-of-record relationship means recurring, deadline-driven music across a campaign and its many cutdowns, and their premium tier is a natural home for bespoke scoring alongside Enterprise licensing.

03

Portal A

Zach Blume · Co-Founder & Managing Partner
San Francisco branded-content and original-entertainment studio (Digiday Video Agency of the Year) for YouTube, Google, LEGO and MLB.
SIGNAL DETECTED

June 2026: launched MLB Players Studio with the MLB Players Association, on top of the 450+ pieces of branded content it shipped in 2025.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

450-plus branded videos a year, plus ownable branded series, is exactly the volume where Enterprise licensing pays off and where a distinctive bespoke score differentiates a franchise.

04

Front Office Sports

Dan DiStefano · Creative Director, FOS Studios
New York sports-business media company that stood up an in-house production studio in 2025.
SIGNAL DETECTED

June 2025: launched Front Office Sports Studios (under RedBird IMI), with a daily nationally-syndicated show, Front Office Sports Tonight, premiering 14 September 2026.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

A new in-house studio running daily social video plus a daily TV show is a multi-editor operation that needs cleared, flexible music at volume — a textbook multi-seat Enterprise case.

05

Morning Brew

Uber Bautista · Director, Social & Video
New York business-media publisher turned daily-video powerhouse (Morning Brew Daily, TikTok, YouTube).
SIGNAL DETECTED

Morning Brew’s social videos drove 251M views in 2024 (following up 73%), feeding continued video-team expansion and back-to-back Shorty Award recognition in 2025 and 2026.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

A publisher shipping daily multi-format video needs a large, cleared library used by several producers at once — a strong Enterprise multi-seat fit, with a Director-level owner who is realistically reachable.

06

Takt/Studios

Mateo Allen · Partner & Co-Founder
Vancouver branded-content and production studio (formerly Massive Media) for Alphabet, Amazon and NYU.
SIGNAL DETECTED

3 March 2025: Massive Media relaunched as Takt, repositioning around a dedicated branded-content and production studio.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

A newly relaunched studio scaling branded video across markets needs cleared, on-brand music per asset — a fit for Enterprise licensing and for bespoke scoring to give the new brand a distinct sound.

07

Vidico

Michael Pirone · Co-Founder & CEO
Melbourne global video-production agency for tech and SaaS brands (Square, Uber, Airwallex); 2,000+ campaigns, 1.5B+ views.
SIGNAL DETECTED

2026: Vidico’s industry report found 76% of tech brands are increasing their creative-production budgets, reinforcing its high-volume ‘asset-bank’ production model.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

Vidico’s asset-bank method spins many variations from one production — a high-throughput use case where adaptive royalty-free music re-cut per variant removes licensing friction at scale.

08

Wrexham AFC

Colin Henrys · Head of Media & Communications
Welsh football club (Reynolds/McElhenney-owned, Welcome to Wrexham) running a high-volume in-house media and content team.
SIGNAL DETECTED

2025-26 season: Wrexham reached the Championship after a historic run of consecutive promotions, with a continuously running club content operation and an ongoing Disney+ docuseries.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

An in-house club studio pushing match-day, social and behind-the-scenes video daily is a multi-editor team that would share one cleared music subscription rather than clear tracks per project.

09

Chapman University · Dodge College

Nick Peterson · Production Support Manager, Dodge College
One of the highest-volume US film schools (Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, ranked #4), Orange, California.
SIGNAL DETECTED

23 April 2025: a $1.5M gift established the Dhont Family Innovation Hub (LED volume, soundstage, virtual-production and AI tools); Dodge held its #4 US film-school ranking in August 2025.

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

Education is a different message: when a school is provisioning new post-production suites, the pitch is equipping students with the royalty-free scoring workflow they will meet in the industry, licensed per workstation.

10

Boston University · College of Communication

Tim Palmer · Production Section Head, Film & Television
Boston University’s Department of Film & Television (College of Communication), Boston, Massachusetts.
SIGNAL DETECTED

August 2025: BU opened a new $3.5M, 9,400 sq ft Film & Television studio at 808 Commonwealth Ave, consolidating cinematography, directing and post-production into one hub (expanding in 2026).

WHY THIS PROSPECT FOR FILMSTRO

A brand-new centralised post-production hub is when a school standardises the toolchain students edit and score on — the ideal window to license a modern royalty-free workflow per workstation.

04 / AI PERSONALISATION

Emails that look written by hand.

The difference between an email that gets ignored and one that gets a reply is rarely the offer, it is the first sentence. When a creative director, head of content or founder opens an email and reads a line that names a film they just released, a studio they just launched or a campaign they just shipped, the email earns the right to keep going. Cold is Gold’s AI workflow extracts those facts at scale across your prospect universe, then weaves them into the opening line so every message reads as if a human spent two minutes researching the recipient. No flattery, no horoscope copy, no “I came across your website” openings, just a precise, verifiable fact in the prospect’s own vocabulary, tied directly to the Filmstro pitch.

The principle: when a creative director or head of content reads the email, they should think “this person looked into me”, not “this is a bot”. Every opening sentence cites a precise, verifiable fact in the language of video teams — the edit, the cut, cues, sync, cleared music, Content ID claims, the Premiere timeline.

Here are the 3 types of signals we would use to personalise every email sent on your behalf, stacked from most-findable to most-personal so the AI pipeline always has a clean fallback.

01

A recently published production or campaign

What we look for The most recent piece of video work they released or won in the last few months: a brand film, a campaign, a docuseries, an awards or client win.

“Saw Portal A stood up MLB Players Studio in June and shipped 450-plus pieces last year, that is a serious amount of music to keep cleared across all of it.”

02

A new or scaling in-house content operation

What we look for A new in-house studio, a funding round to scale content, or a jump to a higher production cadence in the last 12 months.
Where we find it Press releases · Ad Age · Campaign · company announcements · founder and head-of-content LinkedIn
Findable on 80% of prospects

Front Office Sports launched its in-house Studios arm in June 2025 and is premiering a daily show, Front Office Sports Tonight, in September 2026.

“With FOS Studios up and running and a daily show landing in September, I imagine the team is clearing far more music than a per-track licence comfortably covers.”

03

The platforms and formats they publish on

What we look for Whether their output lives on monetised YouTube, social feeds, broadcast or VOD, because that dictates the licensing and the Content ID exposure on every track.
Where we find it Their YouTube and social channels · showreels · case studies · client channel credits
Findable on 70% of prospects
Raw data

Morning Brew’s social team publishes daily video across TikTok and YouTube, driving 251M views in 2024.

AI personalisation →

“Since Morning Brew is putting out daily video across TikTok and YouTube, Content ID claims on the music must be a recurring headache when a clip takes off.”

05 / CAMPAIGN EXAMPLES

Real campaigns we have run.

These 13 examples are intentionally varied — both in sector (construction, hospitality, luxury, SaaS, influencer marketing, editorial, EMS, factoring…) and in outcomes. You will find campaigns matching each of our 4 projection scenarios — from the minimum guarantee to exceptional cases. The goal is not to show a curated best-of, but the genuine diversity of what we produce. The campaign cards below are kept in their original French to remain faithful to the real artefacts we delivered. The AI-personalised sentences are highlighted in terracotta.

Good to know: phases 2, 3 and 4 run in parallel with the technical setup (phase 1). Concretely, during the 1-month technical warm-up we build your database and write your sequence — so the first emails go out from week 5.

Phase 1 — Technical setup

Creation of dedicated sending domains, SPF/DKIM/DMARC configuration, opening and setting up the email addresses, launch of the warm-up (1 month). No action required on your side.

Phase 2 — Workshop (1h)

A structured working session to define together the structure of the database, the tone of voice for the emails, and to gather your case studies and key differentiators. This phase runs in parallel with phase 1 (Technical setup).

Phase 3 — Sequence copywriting

First draft, feedback rounds and optimisations with you, then layering in the AI personalisation (the signals shown above). We validate the overall email content with you before moving on to the database.

Phase 4 — Database build

We assemble a sample of prospects (like the 10 above) for you to validate. Once approved, we build the full database with quality control: field verification, contact qualification.

Phase 5 — Campaign launch

Sending starts as soon as the warm-up is complete. First results within the first week. Real-time tracking: open rate, reply rate, opportunities generated.

Phase 6 — Reporting & optimisation

Real-time reporting through our platform. Continuous adjustments and A/B testing on subject lines, opening sentences and sequences. Regular monthly or quarterly check-ins depending on results.

Our commitment
No contractual commitment on the number of opportunities.

How the guarantee works in 3 clauses.

D0 · Launch
CLAUSE.01
Our commitment

We commit to generating at least opportunities per month, i.e. opportunities over months. This target matches the low scenario of our projections (10% of our clients' campaigns).

M+1 · Check
CLAUSE.02
If we fall short of the target

As soon as a month closes below opportunities, your billing is immediately frozen. Concretely: you stop paying from that month onwards, until we have fully caught up the cumulative shortfall. You never pay for a month where we don't deliver on our commitment.

M+3 · Limit
CLAUSE.03
If the shortfall persists over 3 consecutive months

Termination is possible at no cost. We keep working at our own expense during those 3 months of shortfall; beyond that, we acknowledge the failure and you are no longer billable for what follows.

Dynamic values

The figures shown in these clauses are not fixed: they are recalculated automatically based on the parameters set in your simulation above. The final contractual commitment will depend on the parameters validated together at the start of the engagement.

Contractual definition of an opportunity: a prospect responding positively to one of our prospecting emails — either an information request or a meeting request.

In addition to fees, 3 technical costs to plan for.

The first is a one-off investment that you own for life — your prospects remain yours, even if you stop working with us. The other two are monthly technical subscriptions, essential for any cold email campaign.

A FINAL WORD

This document is not a sales pitch. It is a projection built on the real numbers from our campaigns — the scenarios presented are not promises, they are averages observed across our clients.

Our method has been operational for several years. It works as soon as the fundamentals are in place: a clearly identified market, a differentiating positioning, a measured closing rate. Filmstro has all three.

Our conviction is that we can install for you a steady stream of qualified Enterprise and bespoke-music conversations with video teams across the English-speaking market over the next 12 months — with indicators we steer together, month after month.

Whenever you want to talk about it concretely, we are here.
